This is a typical view of the MLR. Whenever possible, which was most of the time, the line ran along the top of a hill and the Chinese mostly practiced the same procedure. H Company machine gunners were placed in good ranging firing positions along side of rifle company infantrymen. There were bunkers, fox holes, and trenches wherever possible for maximum protection.
