Not much to see here but it was a major step in the right direction at the
time. Sasebo was on a large natural harbor on the southern tip of Kyushu,
the southernmost island of Japan. We were here about three days waiting
for the next ship to come along. The large harbor stretched at least 15 miles
and there were all sorts of ships docked and anchored along the way. There
was even a small aircraft carrier at anchor.
